What is a Nursery School?
The basic definition of a Nursery School is an educationally based playschool / preschool. We are not a daycare nor child care facility; we are an early learning program

Philosophy & About our Day
We use the Multi-Sensory Learning Philosophy. This is a philosophy that teaches in a way the child understands. Gross motor and emotions, as part of our senses, are used in conjunction with our sight, sound, touch, … for optimal understanding, learning, and growth within the child.
Whether your child is a doer, watcher, … this way of learning connects with the child and allows them to learn in a way that best suits them.
I believe time and routine are a natural part of our day, and incorporate them into our classroom setting. I also believe children learn through a variety of ways (formal, music & movement, 'hands-on', and play) and incorporate them into our class. And, too, I believe that every child should have healthy snacks to assist in the proper growth and development of their bodies, so all snacks are nutritious.
At Wee Beginnings we provide children with a variety of experiences that encourages learning.
We have a variety of sensory bins children can explore. These provide children with learning through touch as they explore weight, sound, and texture, as well as develop their fine motor skills for pouring, twisting caps on and off, and pinching/grasping. Children also learn social skills by sharing, discussing, and helping each other.
We have "Child Directed" Crafts; which means we provide the supplies, and an example, and your child can create as they see it; this means the craft is your child's and not mine. Just like adults, some children like crafts, and some don't; we don't 'make' a child do a craft (although I know it's nice to have something to keep!). We paint, glue, use scissors, and have a great time!!
We have table time. We provide 'toys' your child can touch, and manipulate. This could be pegs in a peg board, lacing beads, pattern blocks and pictures, …
We have circle times, where we sing songs, play group games, have lessons and read stories.
We also have 'gym' time where we spend time doing running, exercises, 'yoga' and other gross motor fun (like basketball or balancing or 'hockey') ... this is especially important in the winter, when we can't get outside. We even have an indoor jungle gym that we set up sometimes.
And we have play time. We provide children with a variety of toys for even more social experiences.

Who am I?
My name is Miss Bekah (so much easier for children to say, then Mrs. Davidson). I grew up in a small town, in Ontario, where my mother had a home daycare.
Right from early on I have always loved helping young children learn. After high school, I received formal education and for more than 20 yrs have taught and assisted in schools, daycares and playschool settings.
My husband, myself and our son have spent the last 20+ years in the Kinistino/Melfort area, (although now our son has grown up, moved away, and has begun his own family).
